There is a significant lack of qualified hairdressers worldwide. One of the problems has been low pay and some employers not recognising the professionalism and art of hairdressing. Our salons do and we're now looking overseas to staff our 150 salons. If you know someone who is looking to emigrate to Australia or New Zealand and is a qualified hairdresser, I would appreciate you passing on this site to them. Thanks.

Lynne
I've been working for 4 years as a qualified hairdresser in South Africa and I'm 31 years old. I have not yet completed my trade test but have finished all the modules required to complete my trade test. Getting help to finish my trade test has been very difficult, and getting an appointment is even more difficult. Maybe you could help me with a position in New Zealand, and then I can write my trade test there. Please Help! Hanrie

Lynne
Hi Lynne, I am currently seeking a hairdressing sponsor in Australia as i am not able to get a skilled visa due to not being able to work in a salon full time for 6 years. I will pass on a covering letter and my C.V.
Many thanks,
Janet

Hi,
I am sending this covering letter explaining my circumstances to any hairdressing salons that would wish to help me.

I am 41 years old and currently live in England with my fiancé and 2 sons aged 17 and 18. My brother lives in Queensland, Doonan and has done for about 17 years. I have wanted to join him for many years but could never find the right time, until now. I also have a good friend living in Noosa. Although I am keeping my options open as regards a place to live will depend on where I can find a job.

I am a qualified hairdresser/lecturer. Inclusive Learning Officer/ Hairdressers Supervisor. I have never worked full time in a salon due to being a single parent and had little child care when the boys where young. I have always done mobile to make ends meet.
I worked hard gaining all hairdressing qualifications up to NVQ 3, and then finished my teacher training last July, gaining my Certificate of Education. I am also due to qualify as an assessor.
I now teach level 1 hairdressing 1day a week to school leavers. The rest of the week im an Inclusive Learning Officer at the local college. (I supervise hairdressing students and give them support with their studies.)

This is causing a major problem with wanting to emigrate to Australia as I need to have worked for 6 years full time in a salon. The only way round it is to find a hairdressers to sponsor my family and me to move over and work for them.
I would be committed to working for the sponsor then for the next 2 years, before applying for residency. I would gladly pay back the funds.

I long to bring my skills and knowledge of good hairdressing to Australia, be near my brother who doesn’t have any other family there and for my fiancé and boys to lead a more fulfilling and healthier lifestyle.
I attach my C.V. for you to look at,

Many thanks
Janet

Hi. My name is Megan Duggan. We are in the process of lodging our application for permanent residency for Australia, Gold Coast specifically. We live in Assagay, Durban, South Africa. I run a very successful hairdressing salon from home. I have been hairdressing for 20 plus years. (I am 42). I never completed my official qualifications at tech as in those days it was not a requirement to work on the floor. I have an established clientelle. I am an artist as well and have an absolute passion for hair. I work from 8am untill 2pm, 5 days a week. I thoroughly enjoy my profession. I love all aspects of hairdressing but my forte is cutting. I would like to know whether or not I would be able to run a business from home in Australia, without papers. My clientelle are more than happy to write referal letters of their satisfaction. What are your suggestions? I would really appreciate your knowledge and kind imput.

Hello

I am an Australian stylist living in Pinehurst North Carolina. I came here seven years ago and due to boredom opened up a great salon. However I am unable to take any more clients and they are litterally lined up around the corner. The US uses the beauty school concept instead of an apprenticeship. Is any one interested in moving to the US ( we can sponsor in) you really need to love your craft ....we have a very well travelled affluent clientele and you are able to make a really great income, fun schools and a safe happy town....1 hour from a big city and a short flight from NY Accents are very welcomed in the south. I would fly over to meet you.

Lynne

Dear Lynne,

I am a US Citizen living in the state of Virginia, age 39, with 20 years of hairdressing and salon ownership experience. I own 2 salons, one of which (12 stations) that offers full service hair and waxing, and the other a very large full service Day Spa (with 14 hair stations) that offers all hair services, tanning, makeup, massages, nail services and esthetics. I also own a cosmetology school that offers a fully accredited and state certified Cosmetology Program (1500 hours). I hold the following licenses; Cosmetologist, Cosmetologist Instructor, Esthetics Instructor and Nail Instructor. I am in the process of selling the corporation, as I am looking to move out of the country. My partner and I are very interested in living abroad. I am told by a friend of mine that it is much easier is you are sponsored. I would be very interested in speaking with you about an opportunity and what would be involved, and any assistance you can give me.

Thank You in advance,
--Ron Paul

Good Afternoon Lynn, I'm 32, single with NO KIDS and ready to live abroad. I was told that it's easier if I get sponsored by an organization over seas then applying for a HSMP. I've been a Master Cosmetologist since 2001 but have worked in shops since the age of 16. So this is a passion that I dearly love. I would like to know if there are positions available in Germany Area? I know that I'm a skilled artist in my line of work and I'm ready for the challenge that lies ahead. If you can provide me with more information via email about the length of the visa, living arrangements and whether this would be a booth rental situation or not. Thank You and hope to hear from you soon, Cynthia My email address is : Thiathee@aol.com
