Dear Host Family, My name is Geraldina. I am from Nicaragua but I reside in the United States where I have been living since 2001. I plan on moving to my home country in november due to the fact that my true dream is to become a Registered Nurse and I won't be able to do so if I stay in this country because of my legal status. I recently graduated from high school where I had nusing classes for a year, where I was taught to care for the elderly and pediatrics. I then started a whole year of Emergency Medical Technician where I got a certificate for CPR and first aid, Phlebotomy and Electrocardiography Technician. I enjoy working with kids and have done so for the past 2 years while working in the hospital as a volunteer in the pediatric rehabilitation unit. also I have experience working with elders for I did Nursing hours in a Home, long-term care facility and with elders who had less than 6 moths of life left. I am looking for a job that would help me get to the place where I can truly shine. I would like this job to be as a live-in care giver for a child and for the job to be located in Toronto, Ontario. I have worked with children from only months old to the age of 15. I don't cook much but I am willinf to learn. my favorite activities to do with children include drawing, singing, acting children plays, reading stories and I also like to help them with homeworks and school related tasks. I am a laid back person. I enjoy reading educational books, playing the piano, drawing and writing journals. I have a fun personaly and work well under stress. I act quickly, I am responsible and respecful. I have no problems in adapting to any situation, ability in asimilating new knowledge. I like socialise and also enjoy a close family life I am available to work as nanny / babysitter / mother's help / cleaner - housekeeper, or a combination , whatever you are looking for. I am writing with an intent to apply as Caregiver.
I am Mariette, 32 years old, a Philippine Registered Nurse. I am a trained First Aider and and has training on Basic Life Support which includes CPR for adults, child and infant. I have a 6 months experience in a 85 bed capacity hospital. I am currently taking good care of my 62 year old father who suffered but has fully recovered from multiple strokes. My job includes arranging his monthly consultation appointment .These check-ups includes laboratory work-up, coordinating with his doctor for his medications or any untoward symptoms seen. I have a one and a half year internship work experience in a 350 bed capacity hospital in which we were assigned in rotation to all areas of the facility which includes Medical Surgical Ward, Intensive Care Unit and Medical Ward. Primarily we dealt with adult patients.
I am a compassionate warm-hearted Nurse with a big heart for the elderly. I am patient, very norturing, understanding, honest, trustworthy, hardworking,and result -oriented. With these, and the above mentioned traits i have, I believed i fit to work as caregiver to elderly.
