Alberta Caregiving Institute in Edmonton is an educational institution offering evening and weekend Health Care Aide (HCA) certification programs on-site and online. Our evening full-time program is offered from our Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre in Jasper Avenue, and our weekend full-time program is offered from Grey Nuns Community Hospital, Youville Drive West. Our HCA programs are full-time for 22 weeks and consist of 9 courses, a lab and practicum (internship).

Our Mission:
We operate with the aim of preparing and training students to meet the challenges of the current caring environment in the province of Alberta. Our goal is to provide student focused education through outreach program, graduate employment and building reputation through high program expectation to meet the requirements of the Health Care Aide Program.


Admission Requirements::

Photos for  - Health Care Aide Certification in Edmonton, AB- Must be at least 18 years of age
- To take our on-site HCA program, you must be resident (living) in Alberta
- Clear criminal record check
- 60 credits towards an Alberta High School Diploma, verified by transcript, with a passing grade (50%) or better in Grade 10 English –OR – non-Alberta equivalent- OR qualifying benchmark –5 in English Reading, Listening and Speaking or better –OR–Pass English/Comprehension Assessment Test Administered by Camrose Caregiving Institute –OR must satisfy Country of Origin Educational Requirements with a passing grade in English- OR – submit proof of a minimum TOEFL score of 550.

Locations:

We provide students with the option of in class training here at our two locations in Edmonton as well as online learning for those who are unable to attend classes in person. We are also expanding our HCA program to the following locations in Alberta: St. Albert, Leduc, Bonnyville, Killam, Vegreville, Castor and Medicine Hat.
