Institute of Machine Tool Technology: The Institute of Machine Tool Technology (iMTT) located in North Mississauga, Ontario offers programs designed to enable students to achieve the practical, hands-on experience they need to obtain employment in the machine tool industry upon graduation. Students at other institutes may complete their CNC certification but often lack the practical, hands-on experience they need to find relevant employment upon graduation. The pre-requisite to be considered for admission to Institute of Machine Tool Technology is Grade 12 or its equivalent. If you are a mature student (18+ years of age) without Grade 12, a Basic Skills Test is required.
At Institute of Machine Tool Technology (iMTT), our curriculum includes 1250 hours of combined theoretical and practical CNC training. This includes 625 hours of "instructor-led apprenticeship-style" training on CNC machines, 445 hours of theory and 180 hours of computer-based training. Compare this to other institutions that offer an average of 700 hours of combined training!
Institute of Machine Tool Technology is located at the main intersection of Derry Road and Rexwood, which is two traffic lights east of Goreway or two traffic lights west of hwy 427. The Mississauga Transit bus stops are directly in front of iMTT. All other transit systems comes to Westwood Mall which is two minutes from iMTT. These transits includes Toronto, Brampton, Vaughn and GO Transit. Institute of Machine Tool Technology will shuttle students to and from Westwood Mall to campus to avoid students from purchasing any additional bus fares.
Mississauga city is 13 miles or 22 kilometers southwest of Toronto. Our campus lies to the north of Mississauga, within 9 miles to Totonto city. Lester B. Pearson International Airport is located 2 miles south of our campus and provides flights to international destinations.
Location and Facilities:
Institute of Machine Tool Technology consist of Offices, Classrooms, and CNC Machine Shop all under one roof. Institute of Machine Tool Technology machine shop, is a real machine shop with industry standard equipment and tooling.
Students will receive the full benefits from performing their practicals in a real CNC machine shop which adheres to all standards and safety regulation in the industry. All students performing their practicals in the machine shop including teachers must wear full safety gears. At Institute of Machine Tool Technology we actually use coolant and produce real metal chips.
Our facility also consist of a Principal / Campus Director office, Accountant / Office Administrator office, Receptionist and Waiting Area, Board Room and Cafetaria and safe parking.
