Business:
Business will further develop students’ practical skills and knowledge in a number of functional areas of an organization, including administration, recordkeeping, marketing, human resources, management and business development. Students will learn how to prepare basic accounts, manage budgets, plan and control projects as well as manage and develop teams. Students will also gain skills to recruit select and induct people into an organization and provide a safe work environment.

Certificate II in Business as an introduction to business and the workplace, gives students basic, practical skills which can be used in any office environment. Graduates of this course may seek further studies, or take a first step towards their future career. You´ll learn about computer operations, workplace communication, occupational health and safety, and customer service.
Certificate IV in Business focuses on more advanced essential office skills for a role in an office environment. Graduates will be able to perform a range of operational and administrative duties.

Classes are taught in a combination of lecture, tutorial and practical sessions.
Study Pathways
In accordance with the Australian Qualification Framework, graduates of a Hales Institute Diploma may be accepted into any Australian university. Hales Institute accepts Australian Qualifications Framework(AQF) statements of attainment by Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). Credit exemptions will be given for units where appropriate certification is produced.

Duration
Diploma: 50 weeks (includes holidays), full time
Certificate IV: 26 weeks (includes holidays), full time
Certificate II: 10 weeks, full time
Please note: Part time study is not available to international students.
Assessment
Assessment is continuous throughout the course and is based on student participation, demonstration and application of both practical and theoretical elements. Assessment may include examinations, essay/reports, presentations, group projects, research projects or observation.
Entrance Requirements
Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years and have and a holder of Australian year 11 or equivalent. Direct entry into Certificate II in Business course requires IELTS band 5.0 or equivalent. Direct entry into Certificate IV or Diploma of Business course requires IELTS band 5.5 or equivalent.
