Medical Laboratory Assistant Program:
Our medical laboratory assistant program combines both theoretical and practical classroom instruction with sessions in a well-equipped laboratory to help you to gain the necessary skills for an exciting career in a medical lab. Learn about human anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, hematology, cytology, histology, ECGs, the cardiovascular system, clinical chemistry, lab microbiology, quality assurance and mathematical calculations. Lab safety techniques, aseptic methods, ethics and standards of practice are covered as well. You will have the opportunity to receive hands-on practical training and apply your skills in a clinical practicum at a fast-paced hospital department or lab environment.

Career opportunities exist in public health labs, hospitals, clinics, physician’s offices and private diagnostic testing labs. You may also find employment in veterinary labs or various quality control laboratories.
