BSN for High School Graduates
At New Jersey’s Jesuit College, our baccalaureate students will be exposed to a rich “core curriculum” which includes courses in the humanities, natural and social sciences, fine arts, philosophy, and theology. This provides a solid foundation and preparation for the major area of study, while giving students the professional values that are integral to the nursing profession. The purposes of the Nursing Program are to equip the graduate with a breadth of knowledge, skills and values from both general and professional education, prepare the graduate for generalist professional practice in a variety of settings and provide a foundation for graduate education in nursing.
RN to BSN Program
The School of Nursing offers an upper-division BSN program which is open to any eligible student who already possesses a diploma or associate degree as a registered nurse. The purposes of the program are to equip the graduate with a breadth of knowledge, skills, and values from both general and professional education, prepare the graduate for generalist professional practice in a variety of settings, and provide a foundation for graduate education in nursing. The program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
RN to MSN Bridge Program
The emphasis is on the professional role of nursing with a focus on leadership and community health practice. The concepts of professionalism, nursing process and pluralism are explored. Leadership theory and the health care system are analyzed. Community health nursing is examined and the principles of health promotion and client education are integrated into the conduction of a community project.
Graduate Nursing
Saint Peter's College offers two options for nursing specialization at the graduate level:
- Adult Nurse Practitioner and
- Case Management with a functional concentration in Nursing Administration.
A post-master's program is also offered to prepare nurses as adult nurse practitioners. The master's program builds upon the knowledge acquired in nursing at the baccalaureate level and is based on three essential components for a graduate program in Nursing: theoretical foundation to inform practice, utilization of research, and specialty practice.
