Marbella Design Academy:
The Marbella Design Academy - Costa del Sol sl. in the South of Spain was founded in 1995, and is a state-recognized international Academy in Spain offering courses at university level. It was awarded this recognition by the Spanish Ministry of Education-Junta de Andalucia. Students come from all over the world to study at our Academy, with currently more than 33 different nationalities represented. We are proud to say that the Academy's current programme offers our students an education which meets the high demands required to become a fully qualified professional designer. We are constantly expanding and improving our curriculum. We have a very high standard of training and our students are often head-hunted by employers before graduation! All classes are held in English, and in small groups. Tuition is at University Level and our Diploma is equivalent to a Bachelor 's Degree.

Study Programs:

Web Design – 1 yr
Subjects covered in this course include History of the Graphic Image, Photography, Technical Graphic Expression, Typography, Theory of the Public Image, Audio Visual Tuition, Web design projects among others. You will also complete a work experience placement and study tours also form part of the course. Software programs taught include: Photoshop, CSS, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, PHP and XML.

Fashion Design – 2 yrs
The 1st year has been prepared to provide the students with a basic knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the design process from the brief given, research, sketches, theoretic tuition and lectures within the subjects, presentation technique, technical drawings, Photoshop and Illustrator skills, and the development of the ideas/projects to the final presentation including marketing, such as how to build your own business. To achieve this, the course content encourages the students to acquire a comprehensive means of expressing their ideas. The 1st year is oriented toward giving the students professional development before continuing into the 2nd year and to enable the students to experience and develop their own unique vision and to implement their concepts through diverse creative processes. The students will be taught how to explore independently and examine the fundamental principles of communication, encouraging self-motivation and challenging aims and objectives of initiated work

Interior Design – 3 yrs
The aim of these course is to develop the students to become a professional Interior Architects/Designers at a high academic level, living up to the marked demands for a professional designer of today. Therefore has the Marbella Design Academy incorporated all the latest computer applications from the 1st year of study. Following graduation, the students are at a high academic level in among all the other skills required, as well in the computer programs: AutoCad, 3D Studio MAX, Director, PhotoShop and Illustrator. For this reason the students can present their projects with outstanding images and walk through images.

Graphic Design – 3 yrs
First Year Courses include: Design Workshop; Artistic Drawing; Materials; Projection Drawing; Rendering Technique; Colour Theory; Photography; Presentation Technique; Visual Expression / Model Making; Basic Computer Skills; PhotoShop; Illustrator; Technical Perspective Drawing

The priorities in 2nd and 3rd year are to foster greater individual design responsibility and ambition, as well as to achieve design and presentation skills at a professional level. This is achieved through in-depth studies of more complex ideas and processes within the design environment. Your projects will be based on externally set Design Briefs, possibly real. The task will be to complete this to a professional standard, primarily self-directed. This, with career planning and personal presentation, will form the basis for your professional life. The course as a whole seeks to optimize the creativity of each individual student, actively encouraging work that reflects major current events and issues. We promote links with external competitions and award schemes, which offer considerable scope for preferences or specialization after the first year. We also encourage highly personal niche interests and diverse variations in approach to problem solving, through traditional or highly contemporary means.

Interior Design with Furniture/Product Design – 3 yrs
The aim of this course is to provide the students with a basic knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the design process from the brief given, research, sketches, theoretic tuition and lectures within the subjects, presentation technique, technical drawings, Auto-Cad, 3D Studio Max, Photoshop and the development of the ideas/projects to the finished presentation. The 1st year is oriented toward giving the students professional development before continuing into the 2nd year and to enable the students to experience and develop their own unique vision and to implement their concepts through diverse, creative processes. The students will be taught how to explore independently and examine the fundamental principles of communication, encouraging self-motivation and challenging aims and objectives of initiated work. Subjects covered in the 2nd and 3rd years include: Spatial Expression, Project Management Skills, Projection and Perspective Drawing, Freehand Drawing, Technical and Furniture Construction.

Digital Film and Televison Production - 3 yrs.
NEW COURSE. Starting 15th of September 2010 - 3yrs. Please contact us for details of this program.

The courses start twice a year. You can enter in January and in September.
