Full-time Practical Nursing Program (50 weeks):
Graduates of our Practical Photo for Sprott-Shaw Community College, Surrey - Practical Nursing Program in Surrey, BCNursing Program provide nursing care for patients under the direction of physicians, nurses, and other health team members. This occupational group may be referred to as licensed practical nurses (LPN), certified nursing assistants (CNA), registered nursing assistants, or registered practical nurses.

Practical Nursing Course Content:

Semester 1 - 375 hours / 15 weeks:
Health 1; Healing 1; Human Relationships 1; Professional Growth; Human Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology; Nursing Arts 1; Community Practicum #1

Semester 2 - 405 Hours / 15 weeks:
Health 2; Healing 2; Human Relationships 2; Nursing Arts 2; Gerontology Clinical #2

Semester 3 – 610 Hours / 20 weeks:
Health 3; Healing 3; Professional Issues; Nursing Arts 3; Acute Care Clinical # 3; Preceptorship; Career Planning and Management

Entrance Requirements: Grade 12/GED or mature student status. Applicants must successfully complete the admissions interview and entrance assessments.

Note: Successful completion of this program does not guarantee a license to practise. That license is issued by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of B.C. only after successful completion of the mandatory national examination.
