Pharmacy Assistant Program (33 weeks):
Our full-time Pharmacy Assistant program equips our students with the necessary skills to be competitive in this exciting field. The role of a pharmacy assistant (also called a pharmacy technician) is to help licensed Pharmacists provide medication and other health care products to patients. Pharmacy technicians usually perform routine tasks to help prepare prescribed medication, such as labelling bottles and counting tablets. Technicians refer any questions regarding prescriptions, drug information, or health matters to a pharmacist.They also perform administrative duties, such as answering phones, stocking shelves, and operating cash registers.

- Medical Essentials: 160 hours
- Introduction to Pharmacy: 60 hours
- Principles of Pharmacology: 100 hours
- Medicolegal Issues: 20 hours
- Hospital Pharmacy & Aseptic Technique: 60 hours
- Retail Applications: 80 hours
- Pharmacy Lab

Note: CPR, First Aid, Food Safe and basic WHMIS will be completed during the program. Practicum options may be available.

Entrance Requirements: Grade 12/GED or mature student status. Applicants must successfully complete the admissions interview and entrance assessments.
