StraighterLine is a leader in making a quality college education more affordable by offering a new way to complete your required college courses online for less - less money, less time, and less hassle. StraighterLine does not offer college degrees. It offers the first college courses that you must take in just about every college degree. To complete your degree, you can enroll in a StraighterLine partner college or transfer your credits to any college that awards credit for American Council of Education (ACE) evaluated and recommended courses. StraighterLine’s programs are a great way to tackle the escalating cost of four-year college tuition and avoid a mountain of student debt.
We focus on offering only the highest quality, required college courses. StraighterLine's Course Design Team produces a top-notch curriculum that gives you the foundation you need to succeed in future courses and earn college credit.
With no unnecessary or hidden fees, our courses cost less than a comparable course at a traditional college, university, or even a community college.
Is StraighterLine accredited?
StraighterLine is not a college, so it is not accredited. Accreditors will only review entities that provide full degree programs. However, StraighterLine's partners are regionally accredited - the highest level of quality assurance.
Also, the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC), an accreditor recognized by the federal Department of Education, has reviewed Straighterline's courses and said that they meet or exceed their standards for online course quality.
Lastly, the American Council of Education's (ACE) Credit Recommendation Service has evaluated and recommended 9 of StraighterLine's distance learning courses.
What are "required college courses"?
