Online ABT Program - Applied Business Technology

The Applied Business Technology (ABT) program is a provincial curriculum project to develop web-based training in Office Management as a collaborative effort between the community colleges and the Centre for Curriculum Technology and Transfer to develop a Collaborative Online Program for E-Learners (COPE). The first courses being offered are the core courses of the ABT. Students will acquire the skills and knowledge to use effective oral and written communication techniques; demonstrate time management techniques by determining work priorities; create, revise, transcribe and process business correspondence and documents using a variety of electronic office equipment with an emphasis on microcomputers. Students will use word processing, spreadsheet and graphics software to perform a variety of secretarial assignments to the professional standards expected in an office.
