Consistent with Baker College’s mission, the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program serves the needs of working adults, helping them to advance in their careers through quality graduate education. The program is designed to graduate scholar practitioners who will set the standard for best practice and contribute to the solution of critical business and management problems through research, teaching, and consulting.
Master of Business Administration
Our faculty are well known experts and researchers in their field, presenting at conferences around the world, publishing research, and authoring textbooks. They are developing the latest methods and strategies to help businesses compete in the 21st century. We also have instructors who are senior business executives with years of experience and knowledge in leading businesses in a wide variety of industries. The one thing all of our instructors have in common is their desire to help students as they pursue their MBA. Our faculty are not just instructors, but often are mentors, advisors and enthusiastic motivators.
Master of Science in Information Systems
In the information systems field, many, if not most, managers earn their position because of technical competence and interpersonal skills. These individuals are often software developers, systems analysts, or database administrators with excellent technical skills, but few have formal management training, except that provided by their companies as a requirement for promotion. Others are professional managers, who have few technical skills, but have been hired due to management expertise. Professional information technology management is a complex field requiring, in our opinion, a strong, inter-related combination of management and technical skills. A fortunate few in IT project management are successful without both skill sets, but such successes are rare. Depending on an individual student’s level of information systems industry experience, we expect graduates to be ready to assume a variety of positions from Lead Systems Analyst to Chief Information Officer. This may be an ambitious mission; however, our standards are high and our curricula rigorous.
Master of Occupational Therapy
The mission of the Master of Occupational Therapy Program at Baker College is to provide each student with quality undergraduate and graduate educational experiences grounded in theory, scholarship, and hands-on clinical application. The program prepares students for entry-level practice, national certification, and state registration or licensure.
