Become a Qualified Foot Care Practitioner

Diploma Award Course by home-study (Distance Learning)
*The fee for this course covers two weeks practical supervised training in the UK College of Foot Health Practitioners located on the West Midlands but does not cover travelling or subsistence expenses.

Home Study course of 10 Modules. Accredited Qualifications

Course Details

A foot health practitioner attends to all of the common conditions that affect the foot and leg. This can range from routine care of nails, through treatment of verrucas and hard corns to flatfeet, to bunions to functional problems of the foot.

There is a great need of properly qualified foot health care practitioners in Ireland today as there is a higher proportion of elderly people in our population and fewer young people to look after them. Add to this the rise in diabetes (diabetes have a regular and on-going need for professional foot care) and overweight people generally in our society – who make heavy demands upon their feet and you can begin to see the potential. Finally, sporting people are always anxious to ensure their feet are in excellent order.

This course will fully train you to be a Foot Health Practitioner. The college in the UK where you undertake your practical training is run by clinicians who also work in their own successful practices, and it is these dedicated professionals who have compiled this course and supervise students at work. They also conduct the practical training and have many years experience in this field. Following successful completion of the course you will have the opportunity to find financial independence and work satisfaction, in this much-in-demand occupation. You will also be automatically offered access to professional indemnity insurance – a most important consideration when you are about to commence practicing as a foot health care practitioner. You are also fully covered whilst undergoing the practical training.

How long will the course take you to complete?
The course starts off with the home study section which will take you between 8 and 10 months to complete. This section gives you the necessary knowledge that must be acquired before you turn to application. It contains 10 Modules. The practical training then follows and you are given dates for this on enrolment.
