OK Checkers fans, it’s time to hone your strategic thinking and decision making skills in this online version of the classic board game (also known as English Draughts). Master Checkers is a virtual 1-player version of Checkers where you take on a computer-controlled opponent in a tense board-game battle. Your aim is to remove all of your opponent’s checkers pieces by jumping over them and landing on a similar colored square to the one that you diagonally jumped from.

Your opponent is tricky, and difficult to beat, so your move planning abilities must be at their best. Use your superior thinking skills to your advantage, and plot your way to ultimate victory. Checkers is a classic test of the mind – have you got what it takes to become the Master? Good luck, and happy playing!

How to Play: This game employs the standard rules of Checkers. Take turns against the computer, moving your Checkers pieces diagonally across the board. You control the red Checkers pieces at the top of the game screen, your opponent controls the blue pieces. Use your computer mouse or touchpad to move your pieces. Left Click on the piece you want to move, then click on the square you want to move it to. If this is an invalid move, nothing happens. Once you have selected one of your Checkers pieces, it becomes highlighted in a darker shade of red.

Both you and your computer-controlled opponent start the game with 12 Checkers pieces each. Your ultimate goal is to ‘jump’ all of his pieces until there are none remaining on the board. You can capture one of your opponent’s blue pieces by ‘jumping’ over it, and landing on an empty, similar colored square to the one that you jumped from. The key to victory is getting your pieces to the opposite end of the board, where a piece becomes a King. Until then, the piece can only move forwards. Once it becomes a King, your more agile piece can move forwards and backwards as you wish, sweeping your adversary off the field.
