Air Transporter is a challenging helicopter-flying simulation game where you have to transport various different types of cargo (air freight) using slick piloting skills. Your helicopter has two retractable ropes that can be attached to items such as crates, bridges and water containers – and you have to carefully carry this cargo from one part of the level to another. You have to build houses, bridges and other structures with your load, as well as quenching forest fires and helping cars across ravines.
Avoid dropping any items into the water, and carefully place them into the correct positions using your retractable ropes. In some levels, you’ll be flying against the clock, so you’ll need to utilize your quick reaction skills. Controlling the helicopter and managing the ropes simultaneously is extremely tricky, so you’ll need nifty fingers in this fun skill activity. It will certainly test your creative engineering and multitasking skills, as you have to build structures while carefully maneuvering your helicopter and its cargo in order to succeed. This addicting helicopter game follows the laws of gravity, so keeping your aircraft and cargo balanced is the key. Ok Captain, can you handle that chopper? Good luck!
How to Play: There are two ways to control the flight of your helicopter. Choose which mode on the menu screen before you start. In Computer Mouse mode (Recommended), the helicopter’s flight path responds to the movement of your mouse. Computer Keyboard mode is more difficult, as you have to use your Arrow Keys as well as the ‘Common Controls’ that control the rope movement. Each rope can be individually controlled, or they can be used at the same time. These Common Controls, also on your computer keyboard, are in effect for both Game Modes:
– W/S = Moves both ropes Up / Down simultaneously
– Q/E = Move Left / Right rope up
– A/D = Move Left / Right rope down
– Z/C = Unlink cargo from Left / Right rope
– X = Unlinks both ropes simultaneously
– Spacebar = Equalizes the length of both ropes
– Hold Shift = Move camera around level
Each piece of movable cargo has a little steel ring where it can be attached to your chopper. When you move your ropes towards the steel ring, you hear a clinking sound to indicate that it is attached (hooked) to the rope. Transport the cargo to where it is indicated on the game screen. There are detailed tutorials in each of the 18 increasingly difficult levels to help you. Your helicopter health icon is at the top of the game screen. If the little helicopter icon fills up to full Red, it’s game over. You also have to keep an eye on your Gas levels in the top left corner. If you run out of gas, you crash, and you have to start the level all over again. Refuel your gas tank by landing on the pad that you begin each level from.
