Love classic-style computer games? Space Is Key 2 is a straight-forward retro arcade skill game for kids where you have to jump a moving block over obstacles of different shapes and sizes on an iconic 2D-style game screen. This good old-fashioned timing and prediction game will really take you back. In each level, you control a moving block and you only have one move – jump. Sounds simple, right? Wrong!
This game can be super-tricky and frustrating as you have to time each jump to perfection. Timing really is the key – each jump has to be executed meticulously, or else you lose a life. There is also a lot of trial and error required, so be prepared to be patient. This old-school gamer activity will really test and exercise your hand-eye coordination, and your timing skills, as picking the correct moment to jump is so important. Ok Jumping Jack (or Jacqueline!), let’s get hopping!
How to Play: The controls are very simple – there’s only one button. Hit Spacebar on your computer keyboard to jump. You control the moving square Block. It automatically moves at the same speed along the game screen. There are 20 increasingly difficult levels to contend with. There are three ‘floors’ in each level, each containing a number of obstacles. If your Block enters one side of the game screen, it will appear on the other side when you complete a ‘floor’.
If your Block hits off one of the obstacles, you lose a life. Be careful, because your next Block regenerates instantaneously as soon as your old block is eliminated. You have unlimited lives, but you can see how many you have spent in the top left corner of the game screen. To mute the music or restart, Left Click on the icons in the top right corner using your computer mouse. If you complete the Normal mode, try the ‘Challenges’ mode on the main menu screen. These are more advanced levels for real expert gamers.
