Escape is an extremely challenging online prison-escape game where you have to strategically guide a prisoner away from the guards and out of a tiled grid to safety in each level. You play the role of Michael, an inmate who was wrongly convicted of a crime – now it’s time to break free! Strategically avoid the prison guards, and plan your route, literally step-by-step, to freedom. Michael can only move one square on the grid at a time – but the guards can move two – so you’ll need to outsmart them if you hope to reach the escape hatch in time.
Your thinking and planning skills will really be tested in this tricky maze puzzle, as the prison guards are very difficult to shake off. Your decision-making under pressure will also be exercised as you only have a certain amount of time to escape in each level. Be careful, because one wrong move and the guards will thwart your daring escape plan. Can you stay under the officers’ radar, and break free from this online Alcatraz? It’s Prison Break time!
How to Play: In each level, you begin on a tiled grid with one or more Guards trying to stop you from reaching the escape door (indicated by a Yellow Arrow). Your character (Michael) can only move one tile at a time. Do this by Left Clicking with your computer mouse on the tile you want to go to, or using the Arrow / WASD Keys on your keyboard. You cannot move in the direction of the electrified gates.
For every one step you make, the Guard can make 2 steps – so he is getting closer to you each turn. If there are barriers between you and a Guard, he moves in the same direction as you (The trick is to try and send him down a dead end where he has to turn around, giving you time to move closer to the escape door.) If he catches up to you, you lose a life and have to start the level again. You can see how many lives you have remaining in the top left corner of the game screen. Just below that, a clock is ticking down from 90 seconds. If you don’t reach the escape door before the clock runs out, you also have to replay the level. To reset the level at any stage, click the ‘Reset Maze’ button.
