Training
The Vocational Nursing Program is 12 months of
academic coursework and clinical rotations for
full-time students and 18 months for part-time
students. The program focuses on the acquisition
of knowledge, application of nursing skills, and
integration of caring and humanistic behaviors.
Upon completion, the student receives a diploma
in Vocational Nursing and is eligible to take
the NCLEX-PN examination to become a Licensed
Vocational Nurse (LVN).
Nursing Assistant Training is an
six-to-eight-week course designed to prepare
qualified individuals to become safe and
effective Nursing assistants. Aimed at
developing skillful, thinking, and caring
nursing assistants who will function within the
roles and responsibilities as required by the
law, the graduates are prepared to take the
program competency evaluation which is the
required test for state certification. The
instruction prepares students to meet
certification requirements. Each student will be
assisted in applying for the Competency
Evaluation Program that is given on site.
Clinical experience and certification will be
very helpful for CNA’s who go on to LVN, RN, or
other Nursing Certificate or Degree Programs.

acute care facilities, under the immediate
supervision of a clinical instructor(s), and 26
