Qalam wa Lawh Center for Arabic Studies
Qalam wa Lawh Center for Arabic Studies is an
oasis in Rabat, the capital city of
Morocco. Located in the up scale neighborhood of
Souissi, it is a 10 minute ride by taxi to the
center of the city and the Medina. Housed in a
spacious (4,000 sq ft) facility and enclosed
within it's own tranquil garden, our school
is an ideal place to learn Arabic. Each
class is led
by an experienced and enthusiastic
native-speaking Arabic teacher. Our teachers are
all former Fullbright scholars. They have
previous experience teaching at American
universities during a Fullbright exchange
program. They also have held positions as
Professors of Arabic at distinguished
Moroccan Universities.

ILCS Arabic Language School in Rabat
ILCS Arabic Language School (Centre de Langues de ILCS) is located in Rabat, the capital of
Morocco, which is a beautiful city on the Atlantic Ocean and the
Bouregreg River. The center of Rabat is within a 15-minute walk from
the beach. The climate of Rabat is a moderate one, with long periods

Arabic Language for English speakers
Courses with Jeunesse des Chantiers Marocains take place on the first language institute in the city of Safi, housed in a large quite villa. The tranquil residential neighbourhood is only a 5 to 10-minute walk from the city center (new city) and within easy walking distance of a variety of restaurants, snaks and cafes. The institute offer language exchange opportunities while interacting with young Moroccans who study English. The students begin to understand and to speak the Arabic language as soon as possible accompanied by a solid learning method, with a grammatical base developed within a communicative context. Our method is designed specially for foreign students and we emphasize communication by using much interaction. Covering all aspects of language learning (speaking, listening, writing and reading skills), our high-quality Arabic programs are specially designed for foreign students and are taught in English. Text books and Methods used are: Alif Baa, Al Kitaab Fi Taalim al Arabiyya with audiovisual CDs plus additional materials. The method is a combination of the functional and communicative approaches, computer CDs on how to read, write and speak Arabic.

Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) : Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) is the written language of Arabic. In its classical form it is the language of the Holy Koran. In its everyday use it is the language of newspapers and is also widely heard on radio and television. MSA is a 'used living' language used by educated people and intellectuals. Lessons are usually held 9:00 am-noon .18 Hours per week, Monday to Saturday. Length of program 3 or 4 weeks in length. Class size is max.10 students. |

Dar Loughat – Cross- Cultural Language Center
Dar Loughat is an innovative, cooperative and outreach institution in Morocco providing intensive courses in all levels of Modern Standard Arabic and Colloquial Moroccan Arabic throughout the year. Dar Loughat is ideally located in the center of downtown Tetouan, declared a World Cultural Heritage City by UNESCO. The city of Tetouan is less than an hour by ferry from the Spanish coast and boasts a mild Mediterranean climate. Dar Loughat’s teachers are highly qualified native speakers with experience instructing both independent students and study abroad groups from major universities. In addition to language courses, Dar Loughat offers several excursions and cultural activities.

Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and Colloquial Moroccan Arabic (CMA) which is the most widely spoken dialect in Morocco, both consist of three levels of studies; each level is divided into three successive and progressive sublevels. Specialized Courses, which include Maghrebi Studies and Human Rights in Islam, are available in our Special Summer Program. All of our courses are tailored to meet the abilities and needs of all students interested in learning or improving Arabic. |
