Our Spanish school in Sucre welcomes students from all over the world, but especially Americans and Europeans (about 50/50). It's a small, cozy center set right in the middle of Sucre. Accommodation is with host families (homestay) and activities are an optional part of the program. For all levels, beginners to advanced, start any week of the year. For ages 18 upwards.

Mini-group Intensive - 20 hours/ week & Mini-group Super intensive - 30 hours /week courses can be taken in small groups (max. 5 students/class) or students can take individual classes - 20 hours/week.

The Instituto Cultural Boliviano-Alemán (ICBA) in Sucre is a non-profit cultural institution dedicated originally to the promotion of the German language (Deutsch als Fremdsprache - DaF) with the official recognition as “Institut mit Prüfungsberechtigung “ (ImP - Institute licensed for creditation) by the Goethe Institute, Munich. It puts emphasis on educational activities and cultural interchange to promote and strengthen friendship and understanding between the Bolivian and German people in particular, and between different cultures in general. The ICBA develops its educational and cultural activities within the scope of the Cultural Convention between the Republic of Bolivia and the Federal Republic of Germany, hence enjoys privileged treatment from the Bolivian authorities.

Our Spanish Language Program is a unique way to learn Spanish while exploring such themes as Bolivian history and current social issues.
Our program offers:
- Classes for all levels
- Flexible scheduling
- One-on-one instruction (or in a group by request)
- Homestays with a Bolivian Family
- Volunteer work options
Language level is determined in an informal interview with a member of the teaching staff. Classes are typically scheduled Monday through Friday 8:30 to 10 and 10:30 to 12. Tutorials are usually available in the afternoon.
The center’s teachers work in a team, using materials that we have developed to teach both conversation and grammar. Our professors are professionally trained and have more than 15 years of experience. Their participatory methodology includes options for local field trips and full access to our multimedia library.
The objectives of our program are:
- Teach students to speak and understand Spanish within a social and cultural context.
- Broaden the student’s understanding of the complex political situation in Bolivia.
- Immerse students in Bolivian culture.

IMMERSION LANGUAGE PROGRAM
This intensive language study program is one month long and covers all verb tenses and basic grammatical constructions.
WEEKLY CLASSES
For travelers who want to keep studying Spanish after they finish the immersion course, we offer the option of studying by the week.
WEEKLY TUTORIALS
For advanced students, we offer tutorials focused on advanced grammar and writing as well as addressing special needs related to translations, academic research or presentations.
