Sucre: The charming colonial city of Sucre (population: 250,000) shares the country's capital city status with La Paz which is the legislative and administrative capital, while Sucre is the country's constitutional Capital and the home of the Supreme Court. The city is considered by many to be the “Jewel of South America”, with its relatively low altitude of 2750 meters giving it a warm and pleasant climate year round. Our Spanish School in Sucre is located close to Bolivar Park, just a few blocks away from the city's main Plaza and Central Market.
Cochabamba: Cochabamba is located in central Bolivia in an Andean valley 8,430 feet above sea-level, west of La Paz and north of Sucre. It allows easy access to all regions of the country, from the tropical lowlands to the arid high planes, as well as La Paz, the world's highest capital city. The city's most famous attraction is the statue of the Cristo de la Concordia which is perched atop the San Pedro hill. Our Spanish School is located in the Juan XXIII neighborhood of Cochabamba, just ten to fifteen minutes by bus from the center of the city.
Location and Facilities:
A country of relatively undiscovered, immense natural beauty and culturally rich in traditions and values, Bolivia lies at the heart of South America, surrounded by Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile and Peru. Encounter a culture evolved from the time of the Inca kingdom. Bolivia's undeniable appeal comes partly from the fact that the Spanish influence is there, but this is no more than a thin veneer overlying indigenous cultural traditions that stretch back for centuries.
Cochabamba
Our Spanish school is a one story building built around an inner patio, with nine classrooms. Another small patio is in front of the building, where students gather during breaks to chat, plan after class activities and excursions. We also serve snacks and drinks there. Students can choose to take their lessons outdoors on the grounds under a parasol or on one of the patios. Two of the classrooms can be transformed into a large space for parties, group discussions and video projections.
Sucre
The school has a number of large classrooms with natural lighting, a large open patio and an attractive sunlit terrace, a cafeteria where we provide free snacks during class breaks, free internet, library, and inexpensive bicycle rental. The school also has a video classroom/ language learning lab, free internet and a library.
