Courses
Our schools provide individual or group courses for all levels from Complete Beginner to Advanced as well as courses specific to kids, teens, adults and seniors. Intensive Portuguese courses and private Portuguese lessons are also available. Students can also opt for a Homestay Program where they stay with a local host family for the duration of their studies. Because the host families usually only speak their native language, the students gets considerable language practice as well as an opportunity to really immerse themselves in the lifestyle and culture of Brazil. Specialized programs such as Business Portuguese courses may also be taken.
Our Portuguese courses focus on the four key language skill areas of speaking, listening, reading and writing, while considerable attention is also placed on pronunciation, oral communication and the appropriate usage of language in daily situations. Role-plays, discussions, debates, games and a wide variety of language activation techniques are utilized. The teaching style is communicative and you are expected to take an active role in your language development. Our schools also provide exam Preparation for the Celpe-Bras Examination. CELPE-Bras is the only official and recognized diploma of Brazilian Portuguese language studies for foreigners. The exam was established by the Brazilian Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC) in cooperation with the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE). It is internationally recognized as proof of competence in the Portuguese language. The test examines written and spoken communication skills in Brazilian Portuguese in different everyday situations.
Additional courses in Salvador, Bahia include Bahian Cuisine cooking classes, Afro-Brazilian Dance, Volunteer work, Portuguese and Diving, and Language Exchange.
