English For Business:
English for Business is a specialist language training provider in St. Helier on Jersey Island, specialising in verbal and written communication for international business. Situated in the English Channel between England and France, Jersey Island is a British Crown Dependency off the coast of Normandy, northern France. General Business English
This course is designed to allow language learning to really “bed-in” and as such contains several opportunities to try out your newly acquired Business English skills in realistic workplace scenarios.
Business English for Beginners
This course offers a full introduction to the vocabulary most often used in business environments. Every day starts with an informal business breakfast, before group and individual sessions.
British Business and Culture
A two-week course of either general business English or Financial English, offering 60 hours of tuition to build English language skills as well as developing cultural awareness.
Intensive Business English
This is an intensive course designed to progress your Business English skills in a short space of time, using group activities carried out in the target language, in realistic business situations.
Intensive English for the Financial Services Industry
This is an intensive course designed to progress your Financial English skills in a short space of time, using group activities carried out in the target language, in realistic business situations.
Super-intensive English (individual lessons)
This highly intensive three-day course is designed for the busy executive who needs rapid familiarisation with language for a specific purpose. Over three days you will work with your own exclusive tutor on an individual basis, focused on your precise grammar and vocabulary needs. Because this course is designed specifically for you, we are able to welcome learners of any ability, from beginner to advanced. For the best results, and to maximise your exposure to English in this short period, we would recommend that you stay with one of our friendly host families. At the end of the course, you will receive a record of your progress.
Tailor-made tuition in the classroom or at your place of work.
In Jersey: Specifically for the employer who wishes to train a number of staff in a cost-effective way, we offer courses tailored to your precise needs. Send a small group to Jersey, where they can learn intensively, as well as bonding as a team, on a course which can cover industry specific vocabulary of your choosing. We also work with a number of on-island training providers who can deliver a relevant seminar on issues relating to off-shore finance such as taxation, trust law, and regulation. These seminars allow your staff to get up to date with the latest developments whilst at the same time improving their English skills.
At your place of work: You may find that it is more cost-effective for our tutor to travel to you. We can provide short, intensive courses in your place of work which can be tailored more precisely to the particular demands of your industry.
Business English Exam Preparation
- Cambridge Business English Certificate - Cambridge BEC Vantage/Higher
The Cambridge Business English Certificate is an internationally recognised qualification which opens many doors. Valued by employers as a benchmark of language ability, the test can be taken in Jersey, or at a Cambridge exam centre near your home. We deliver training for both the BEC Vantage and Higher exams through intensive three-week courses.
- Cambridge ICFE (International Certificate in Financial English)
Created in partnership between Cambridge ESOL and the ACCA, the International Certificate in Financial English is a must-have qualification for any international student wishing to follow a course of study in accountancy or finance at University level. For qualified financial professionals, it is proof of the ability in English necessary to work in an international context. Whilst this is a relatively new qualification, it is rapidly becoming an industry standard for international recruitment in accountancy and financial services. English for Business is one of the only organisations in the world to offer an intensive course in tuition towards this exam.
