International Business School in the Netherlands

International Business School in the Netherlands HES School of Economics and Business, Amsterdam:
Honouring a tradition in business studies that goes back to 1867, HES School of Economics and Management is one of the largest institutes of professional business education in the Netherlands. It offers a wide range of business-related programmes leading to a Bachelor's Degree and preparing students for a Master's programme. Supporting courses such as foreign languages, law and intercultural negotiating are included in the programmes.

The school also offers specially designed international programmes which are taught in English, including undergraduate double degree programmes with partner schools in Germany, France, the UK, Mexico, Spain and Sweden. As a result of this, nearly one third of the institute's international students gather in Amsterdam each year from all over Europe, USA, Canada, Mexico, Africa, Australia and Asia to complete their international business studies.

Location and Facilities:

It is quite difficult to find affordable accommodation in the city of Amsterdam and in the Netherlands in general. But, HES offers housing facilities in Amsterdam to its international students for one or two semesters. We have no campus facility, but a contract with DUWO Amsterdam. DUWO is a housing corporation that specialises in housing for students in the Amsterdam, The Hague and Delft regions. DUWO manages more than 1.200 rooms and housing units for students in Amsterdam.

They will offer you a room (for one or two semesters) in one of the two large apartment buildings in the South-West of the city or in a brand new apartment building (2007) near Amstel Station, called "De Eenhoorn". This apartment building is located in the Eerste Ringdijkstraat, near the centre of Amsterdam. You can either opt for a single apartment, with your own kitchen and bathroom, or you can rent a (small or larger) room, with a shared kitchen and bathroom (shared with 2 persons in total). All rooms have an internet connection. The majority of the apartments are located in the Poeldijkstraat/Voorburgstraat apartment buildings.

Amsterdam
Amsterdam is a city of many faces. It is a unique historical city with impressive buildings along the ancient canals and world-famous cultural attractions such as the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum. But it is also a thriving metropolis that has much more to offer.

Since the 17th century, Amsterdam has been an international centre of finance and trade. Its central location, close to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and the port, makes it the ideal gateway to Europe. It is an attractive place for business to settle, which is why it has drawn many international companies. Amsterdam has excellent connections, through airways, train lines and highways, to other European cities. Brussels, Paris, Madrid and Berlin can be reached within a matter of hours.
