David Kagen's School of Film Acting in North Hollywood, LA, provides professional on-camera acting classes taught by working film and television actors in Los Angeles. Learn from our highly experienced and influential instructors, and award winning actors and writers. David Kagen is a Carnegie-Mellon graduate who has taught and coached successful actors such as Ted Danson, Alec Baldwin, Robin Wright, Giancarlo Esposito, Stacy Edwards and Ally Walker for almost thirty years. David Kagen works at the top level of the industry. In addition to private classes, David has lead acting workshops in such cities as London, Paris, New York, Toronto and Montreal and has taught at such top schools as the Yale Drama School, Cal Arts and USC.

Film and Television acting classes. Small classes (maximum 12 students per class). You work twice every class, videotape your work and take your tape home with you. Cold-reading, scene study, improvisation, commercials. Intensive Workshops available.

David Kagen does not accept everyone at his studio. He wants committed actors who have a deep love of acting; people who have a real passion for it and who are supportive of their fellow classmates.

We look for individuals who respect the craft of acting; actors who understand that acting is like learning to play the violin.

It's an ongoing process. You don't take an 8 or 12 week course and go out and become Scarlett Johansson, Sean Penn, Johnny Depp, Nicole Kidman, Robert Duvall or Meryl Streep.

You get into class by meeting with Mr. Kagen personally, one-on-one. (Try doing that with any other top teacher in town.)

He works with you on a scene on videotape. Then you watch the tape together and he tells you what he saw and what you would work on first if you were to work together.
