IES Hillcrest is a private language school located close to downtown San Diego in sunny California. We provide quality education for English learners (ESL) from overseas and the local community. We want to create a comfortable atmosphere that allows students to overcome their anxieties about language learning. Our hope is to facilitate authentic language learning which is enforced by the experience of living in the United States.

Intensive English Program - Our small classes, between six to ten students, offer plenty of interaction with experienced teachers as well as classmates from around the world. Our Intensive English courses are aimed at developing the four language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. We offer courses throughout the day in various levels of instruction, from beginner to advanced. We offer three core courses and a number of electives for students to choose from. Students who are preparing for entrance into colleges or universities may choose from among the Academic Electives. 

Core Courses: Listening and Speaking; Conversation; Reading and Writing and Grammar.
Elective Courses: Pronunciation; American Slang; Idioms and Slang; English Through American Film; Volunteer Project.
Academic Electives: Academic Writing; Pronunciation Practice; TOEFL Preparation; TOEIC Preparation.
