Art School in Canada - The Centre for Arts & Technology
The Centre for Arts and Technology is recognized
as one Canada's premier training institution
focused on entertainment and information
technologies. The Centre for Arts and
Technology, a network of affiliated colleges
with campuses in Fredericton, Kelowna and
Halifax, is a national student-centered college,
focused on regional excellence, that prepares
students to achieve their personal best in their
career and in life. The Centre for Arts and
Technology is Kelowna's only post-secondary
institution offering programs in digital
entertainment and information technology, all
under one roof.
The Centre is a Private Career Training
Institutions Agency (PCTIA) accredited school
with campuses in Halifax (Nova Scotia), Kelowna,
and Fredericton (New Brunswick). Students at the
Centre learn by doing alongside industry
professionals in non-traditional classrooms.
Coursework is vetted by industry to ensure
content is relevant and on trend, and students
enjoy modern facilities and state-of-the-art
equipment. Other features include flexible
learning options, condensed programs, smaller
class sizes, one-on-one attention, and hands-on
education.
The Centres instructors have more than 20 years'
experience in their fields, with both practical
and theoretical knowledge of the digital
entertainment and information technology
industries. They are recognized industry
professionals who sit on boards and associations
to stay current on opportunities in the arts and
entertainment technology industries. Our
instructors are also available to comment on
industry trends and local events in digital arts
and information technology (e.g. recent tax
breaks in the film industry and labour issues).
Financial assistance is available for Full-time
students (those taking 60% or more of a full
course load), who are Canadian citizens or
landed immigrants, through the Canadian and
provincial government student loan programs.
Eligibility is determined by those agencies,
which are independent of the Centre for Arts and
Technology. Applications may be obtained from
Student Aid Offices or at the Centre for Arts
and Technology.
In addition to student loans, there are a number
of ways students may finance their education,
such as the Bank of Montreal's Brain Money
Program, through which students are eligible for
credit. Some students are sponsored by the TSD
or WHSCC. Contact your TSD or WHSCC office (or
legal representation) directly as requirements
for sponsorship may vary. Once you have applied
