We offer Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma programs in Business Administration, Hospitality/Hotel Management, ESL and Information Technology. The System Administration and Security Professional (SASP) program is designed for post-secondary graduates who want a challenging career in the fast paced System/Network Administration and Internet Security field. The SASP program provides the IT training needed for an entry-level position in network or computer system administration. An entry-level systems or network administrator often works behind the scenes, assisting a senior system administrator with routine maintenance and monitoring of systems, analyzing problems, providing hardware and software support, and working to make sure that all the parts of a company's system, such as computers, printers, software, and the entire network system are all up and running properly.
The System Administration and Security Professional (SASP) program fulfills the need for trained entry-level network administration and security professionals. It provides the essential networking and security technical knowledge as well as the essential business and professional skills, such as teamwork and communication, needed for success in administrative and management positions in industry.
The System Administration and Security Professional program (SASP) prepares individuals to plan, manage, and secure the network infrastructure of an enterprise. The program includes knowledge and skill development in business communications and leadership as well as the essential technical knowledge. The technology focus of this program is network administration, with an emphasis on Windows environments, Linux environments, hardware tools, networking tools, project management, and security of the network infrastructure in both environments.
Program Length:
The System Administration and Security Professional (SASP) program is an intensive Two year program that prepares students for a career in System/Network Administration and Security. The program includes one year full time classroom learning and a one year Co-op term as industry work experience. The System Administration and Security Professional (SASP) program includes 1040 hours of required course hours. The program is offered in a full-time format, mostly scheduled during the day, four hrs everyday Monday to Friday.
Learning Outcome:
The goals of the System Administration and Security Professional program (SASP) are to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and experience to:
-administer and operate a multi-vendor computer network to defined service levels;
-establish, monitor, and maintain security on a multi-vendor computer network;
-design, plan, and implement secure multi-vendor computer networks;

The program is delivered in a series of intensive face-to-face courses, employing a range of learning modes including lectures, seminars, computer labs, assignments and group projects. Emphasis is placed on network administration and conceptual skills via hands-on lab standard set by Microsoft, Novell, Cisco, and CompTIA. All courses are taught in an information-intensive way and focus on concepts and techniques. In order to develop competence with the theories and applications, participants are expected to practice what they learn through hands on lab and assignments.

Hampton College is an Authorized Microsoft IT Academy and a Prometric Testing Centre which assure the quality of instruction and infrastructure. Students can write vendor’s exam on campus.

Microsoft Official Academic Courses are the next generation of the popular Academic Learning Series, which was developed by Microsoft especially for instructors who teach Microsoft networking technologies in the academic classroom. The classroom component is complemented with a four-week Practicum in industry, which all students must complete. The Practicum provides an opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge gained in an actual workplace, building upon experience and knowledge acquired from coursework, enabling graduates to compete more effectively for jobs.
Practicum is offered to qualified students where opportunities are available. Most practicum opportunities are unpaid and will last for duration of approximately 4 weeks. Practicum is subject to the availability of host companies and the personal suitability of the student. As such, practicum placement is not guaranteed.
Students must make a reasonable effort to cooperate in the practicum placement process, which is modeled on the job interview process. Students accepted for a practicum will be considered "placed," and alternative options will not be considered unless there are extenuating circumstances.
Assessment:
Program participants are assessed according to Hampton College assessment guidelines to ensure successful acquisition of skills and concepts. Assessment is based on attendance and participation, assignments, presentations, projects, quizzes and exams.
Students must achieve a minimum of 60% in every course and module and cannot be absent more than eleven classes (one class for each month of academic study). Students must also successfully complete a four-week Practicum as evidenced in the sponsoring organization’s Practicum report.
Completion of the vendor certifications is important to student assessment and helps students obtain jobs on graduation. The vendor certifications complement the Hampton College credential and provide further evidence of students’ knowledge, thereby improving their chances to obtain an interview and a job.
Graduation Requirements:
To graduate from the System Administration and Security Professional (SASP) program, participants must not be absent more than eleven classes (one class for each month of academic study) including scheduled classes, supervised labs and discussion sessions; successfully complete required program requirements with a minimum of 60% on all graded assignments, presentations, exams, etc; receive a "Pass" on portions of the program that are graded "Pass/Fail;" and receive a minimum of a "Pass" or 60% on the practicum and major project components of the program.
