Holland College is located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. The Media Unit offers creative disciplines such as Journalism, Photography & Digital Imaging, Graphic Design and Interactive Multimedia. Hands-on as well as extensive theory are offered. Most are two year programs with emphasis on employability.

Photography and Digital Imaging offers professional training to prepare learners to enter the photographic industry as photographers/assistant photographers. The course places a strong emphasis on the business of photography, aspects of which include: employment options, marketing/self promotion and research, technical/creative standards, digital photography and the professional portfolio. Learners will develop their self-motivational ability and are encouraged to pursue many aspects of skill development on their own.

The Graphic Design Program at Holland College provides students with the skills necessary to access the challenging and creative field of graphic design. Exploring the historical and contemporary aspects of graphic design and utilizing state of the art technology and production tools provides graduating students with strong portfolios to venture out into the field or use as a stepping stone to another career path.

The Journalism program has been around for more than 30 years, training print journalists who now work in newspapers across Canada (visit our Alumni Profiles section ) Some have used the training to move into related careers. And a growing number of graduates are choosing to turn their college diploma into an applied degree by completing two more years of instruction at the University of Prince Edward Island.
