Frost Centre Institute's summer camp offers a full curriculum of environmental science, visual arts and non-motorized water sports for boys and girls aged 10 to 16. The Frost Centre Institute is a privately owned not-for-profit organization incorporated in Ontario under the Corporations Act. The corporation was formed specifically to re-open and operate the Leslie M. Frost Centre under a long term lease with the Government of Ontario. The Leslie M. Frost Centre has a rich history of environmental and outdoor education dating back to the early 1950's.

The Frost Centre Institute campus includes 20 buildings on 40 acres nestled in the beautiful Haliburton Highlands, just South of Dorset, Ontario, 2-hourdrive from Toronto. With 2,500 feet of lake frontage on Lake St. Nora and direct access to groomed hiking (or skiing) trails located on 58,000 acres of crown land adjacent to the campus, the Centre offers a truly one-of-a-kind environment for experiential learning and outdoor education.
Programs:
The environmental science program includes lecture/lab sessions along with field work and participation in real environmental research projects under the leadership of our resident and guest scientists. The visual arts program includes digital photography, oil and water painting, pottery and other topics presented by some of Haliburton's top artists.
The non-motorized water sports program includes life-saving swimming, kayaking, canoeing and sailing. FCI also has its own Scuba Diving School so that campers aged 14 or older can obtain their PADI open water scuba diving certification (an extra fee applies to this optional program).
Campers will also participate in on-going projects on subjects such as:
- The FCI alternative (renewable) energy development initiative and the campus' participation in Ontario's Net-Metering program
- The development and deployment of the FCI conservation/re-use/recycle program
- Environmental Science Program
- Class/Lab/Field work components
- Visual Arts Program
- Oil/Water Painting
- Digital Photography
- Pottery

-Ontario Secondary School Credits (SNC3M, AVI3M, IDC3O).
Accommodation:Camper accommodations are in lodge-type buildings with 2 or 3 Campers per bedroom. A total of five 2-week sessions are offered each year. The first session in 2007 starts on June 23rd. The FCI Summer Camp experience provides a unique combination of fun and learning. During their stay, campers will gain a better understanding of our environment and ecosystems. Campers enjoy excellent meals expertly catered by Compass Group Canada.
