English for Academic Purposes:
The Centre for Education & Training offers a comprehensive course that develops the English communication skills necessary for effective post-secondary level academic and social interaction. Curriculum areas include academic grammar, academic writing, active listening for lectures, advanced reading and research skills, debate, discussion, note-taking, making presentations, study skills, vocabulary building and much more.
English for Visitors to Canada (8-weeks):
The Centre for Education & Training offers a general skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing, pronunciation and vocabulary) English language study course. Taking a modern and holistic view of the art of communicating in English, with such topics such as discussion, making presentations, negotiation, debate, drama and poetry, the curriculum develops learners' interpersonal communication skills in a real and meaningful manner. In-class activities are complemented by a wide variety of out-of-class educational excursions.
English Conversation (2-weeks):
The Centre for Education & Training offers a specialized oral communication (listening, speaking and pronunciation) course to young adult visitors to Canada. Learners may take this course on its own or as a prerequisite to the young adult-focused EIL program.
English for Specific Purposes (8-weeks):
The Centre for Education & Training takes its expertise in workplace training around the globe to work with government, industry and special interest groups to deliver customized business English training. From aviation and hospitality to automotive and marketing, our programs offer meaningful and highly motivational language training that helps employees and decision-makers gain personal and professional confidence in English-language communication.
TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC Preparation Courses:
The Centre for Education & Training offers intensive test preparation courses for adult and young adult learners planning to take TOEFL, IELTS, or TOEIC tests either in Canada or upon return to their home countries. The Centre for Education & Training is an official TOEIC Public Testing Centre . However, course fees do not include testing fees or test-date registration. Taking any of our language study courses enable learners to improve upon language proficiency benchmarks achieved through taking the Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment (CLBA).
