Location: Chile, with a population of
over 16 million, is a long and narrow coastal
country on the west side of the Andes Mountains.
It stretches over 2,880 miles (4,630 kilometers)
north to south, but only 265 miles (430
kilometers) at its widest point from east to
west. Chile is a gobsmacking reminder of
nature's beauty and power. This covers an incredible mixture of
remote beautiful landscapes, vast areas of
untouched wilderness, gigantic ice fields,
glaciers and smoldering volcanoes.
Santiago is the capital and biggest city
in Chile with over 5 million people, located in
the middle of the country between the Andes
Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. It is an
inviting and thoroughly modern city whose
citizens exhibit a natural old world charm and
courtesy. Santiago boats restaurants of every
ethnic background, discos, clubs, museums,
universities, international and national
airports, high rise office buildings, theaters,
malls, fun parks, and a modern subway system
which makes finding your way around Santiago a
lot easier. Within an hour or so from Santiago
you can also find outdoor opportunities such as
hiking, nature, hot springs, and skiing.
Vina del Mar is located less than two
hours' drive north-west of Santiago and borders
with the port of Valparaíso to the south. It is
one of Chile's most fashionable beach resorts.
It has a modern and efficient subway system that
connects Vina del Mar with the cities of Limache
and Valparaiso.
It is a great place to take a vacation if you
want go to the beach and relax. Taking advantage
of this situation, we created a program, where
our students can enroll on Spanish courses in
both locations (Santiago & Vina), at both
schools, or in one single location. Boasting
many fine beaches, Vina del Mar is a wonderfully
relaxing place to spend time and learn Spanish
while mingling with the locals.
Pucon is located in central Chile, in the
shadow of Villarrica Volcano, between the
National Parks "Villarrica" and "Huerquehue",
500 miles (800 km) south of Santiago, and 130 km
(80 miles) southeast of Temuco. This is the Lake
District, and is also known as the “Chilean
Switzerland”. The landscape is truly
spectacular. Pucon is one of the centers of
outdoor and adventure tourism in the southern
regions of Chile, with so many activities and
things to see in it's surroundings. It is a
great location for tours, horseback riding,
rafting, mountain-biking, swimming in the lake
or visiting the hot springs.
