The Academy's highly trained and university-qualified teachers ensure that students are given optimal opportunity to learn, in small classes with an average of 5-8 students, and maximum 12 students.

Our language courses are highly comprehensive with varying levels of intensities and durations to cater for students' varying needs and goals. Classes focus on developing oral expression, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, writing, and grammar.

- General Mandarin - aimed at developing all aspects of the Chinese Language and is ideal for fulltime students seeking to gain fluency. Our complete and balanced curriculum integrates speaking, listening, writing and reading skills. There are 9 proficiency levels. Beginners learn basic vocabulary, common expressions and simple texts for everyday situations. Higher levels progress to rapidly developing expression fluency and language norms.

- Intensive Mandarin - thorough and rigorous curriculum comprised of the 'General Mandarin' program plus an additional 10 hours per week which focuses on Speaking. Ideal for students seeking accelerated learning in Chinese.

- Speak Mandarin - afternoon course devoted to improving your speaking skills.

- Survival Mandarin - for those on a busy schedule, who want to learn the basics.

- One-on-One Chinese - private lessons customized to meet your needs.

- 2008 Beijing Summer Camp - designed to provide the most comprehensive and balanced curriculum for young learners, from Total Beginner to Advanced levels. Ages: 6-11 years old & 12-17 years old. Students live in resident dormitories or with host families (homestay).

In 2008, the world’s attention turns towards Beijing as host city of the Olympic Games. The Academy of Chinese Language Studies has two campuses operating in Beijing; Lido Campus and Soho Campus.

Located in the dynamically expanding area of Wangjing our Lido Campus is fitted with the best facilities to accommodate students. These include; 24 modern and spacious classrooms, heating and air-conditioning, 3 large outdoor terraces, a student cafeteria, student exchange lounge, and free internet Wi-Fi for students.

The Academy's Jianwai Soho Campus is in the heart of Beijing's central business district. Jianwai Soho is a busy urban center integrating many residential areas, offices, recreation facilities, restaurants and retail outlets. Our SOHO campus has 16 modern classrooms, heating and air-conditioning, a student exchange lounge, free internet Wi-Fi for students and is easily accessible by public transport. Jianwai SOHO is in close vicinity to: China World Trade Centre (5 minutes walk), China World Hotel (5 minutes walk), Tiananmen Square & the Forbidden City (10 minutes drive).

Regarded as the "glamorous face" of modern China, the city is an ever-evolving blend of history, groundbreaking architecture and modern culture. Recognized as an educational, financial, and cultural hub of China, Shanghai is an ideal place to study Chinese language and culture.

The Academy's Hongqiao campus is located in the Gubei area, east of Shanghai . Hongqiao is a bustling business center that is home to many major national and international corporations. Our campus is located in the Shang-Mi Ra Commercial Center and features modern and spacious classrooms, heating and air-conditioning, a student exchange lounge and free internet Wi-Fi for students.

The Hongqiao campus is in close vicinity to; Gubei Carrefour Hypermarket (next door), Millennium Hongqiao Hotel (next door), Shanghai International Trade Centre (10 minute walk), Shanghai Exhibition Centre (15 minute walk), the airport (15 minute drive), plus dozens of local shops and restaurants.

To ensure a comprehensive learning experience, a range of optional cultural, historical and social activities are offered by the Academy in both Beijing and Shanghai. Our interactive culture workshops offer a fun and engaging way for students to experience the Chinese way of life for themselves. These workshops are based on the most vibrant aspects of the Chinese culture and may include topics such as Peking Opera, Chinese paper-cutting, painting, Chinese medicine and an assortment of culturally-unique games like Mahjong and Chinese Chess.

Our historical onsite excursions provide students with a window into the many wonders that China has to offer. Places visited vary and may include climbing the magnificent two-thousand year old Great Wall, exploring the fascinating Summer Palace, walking the vast royal grounds of the Forbidden City, Shanghai Zoo and many more.

To complement the culture workshops and historical excursions on offer, the Academy also organizes an array of social activities to provide students with an opportunity to relax and mingle.
