Master CIW Administrator Certification - Career Options
|
Qualification you will have:
Master CIW Administrators generally work in Systems Administration, Network Engineering or IT Management. On completing the course you will be able to deploy e-business solutions, Design and Manage Networks and deploy Network Security solutions. The Master CIW Administrator program develops the skills gathered during the CIW Associate course. Candidates will become CIW Professionals by successfully completing one of the three mandatory exams that are required to become a Master CIW Administrator.
What it involves:
The Master CIW Administrator is required to pass four exams. The CIW Foundations exam which is the prerequisite for all CIW certifications, this is a 90 minute exam with a random selection of 85 questions. The additional three CIW Professional exams last for 75 minutes and consist of 60 questions with a choice of four possible solutions. To pass you must achieve 75% or greater in each exam and must not score below 70% in any one individual module.

- CIW Internetworking Professional - - CIW Professional
- CIW Security Professional - - CIW Professional
• The CIW Foundations exam covers a combination
of technical and non-technical skills including
internet design, website development, project
management and website administration.
• The CIW Server administrator exam covers
network administration, web infrastructure,
e-business solutions FTP and mail servers for
medium to large businesses.
• The CIW internetworking Professional exam
covers network architecture and infrastructure,
monitoring and analyzing network performance and
troubleshooting enterprise TCP/IP networks.
• The CIW Security Professional exam covers
management and deployment of e-business
transaction and payment security solutions,
implementing e-business security policies,
security threats, using firewall systems and
managing and deploying security solutions.
CIW offer both classroom and self study options
to study for the Master CIW Administrator course
of exams. If you choose the self-study training
option you can take the exam at a variety of
testing centres or can purchase exam vouchers as
part of your study kit. As with all CIW courses
students are encouraged to apply their skills in
each of the above areas before attempting the
next exam. It is also beneficial to get as much
practice as possible answering sample questions.
Career Options:
The Master CIW Administrator path is suitable for IT professionals who wish to advance in their career as: Network Engineers, Network Architects, Internetworking Engineers, LAN/WAN Administrators, Systems Administrators, Systems Managers, Intranet Administrators, Network Server Administrators, Firewall Administrators, Application Developers and IT Security Officers. As all the Master CIW Administrator exams are job specific exams they test that you have the practical ability and skills to walk into any one of the above fields. Also Master CIW Administrators are recognised by employers and educational institutions world wide so you will have the edge over your competitors when applying for jobs. You should be able to command higher salaries than your non certified colleagues. College credit is often granted towards IT degrees if you wish to go further into academia. |
