 Our Philosophy:

At Forest International School, we believe that:

Each child is unique and should be respected
• Every child has the potential to learn
• Children learn best when they are actively involved
• Learning should be enjoyable
• School should promote a safe and happy atmosphere
• Education is a partnership between the school and the families

 Mission:

Our mission is to ensure that every child is given the opportunity to achieve his/her full potential. We are committed to offering an education centred around the individual child that:

• Develops self-confidence
• Promotes independence
• Encourages respect and appreciation for others
• Nurtures enquiring and independent learners

 Programs:

Nursery Programme; Pre-school Programme; Primary School Programme; Holiday Club Programme; SEN Programme for children with learning disabilities. English is the main language of Instruction. Optional Language Programme with Dutch or French.

 Language Diversity:

The main language of instruction will be English. Primary children have French lessons, three times per week. Initially, emphasis will be placed on oral skills, with reading and writing being added as they progress. In addition, we offer an optional language program (currently either Dutch or French) based on parents’ demand and number of children registered. This way our children can cultivate their mother tongue or become more proficient in a chosen language. It is possible for the children to be taught certain elements of the curriculum, history and geography for example, in this language.

 Children of our world:

The children in the school come from all around the globe. As most of the staff are also from international backgrounds and have traveled widely with their families, we are sensitive to the challenges involved in adapting to a new setting, and of importance of the school to the expatriate.
