L'ermitage - International School Of France:
We are a successful bilingual primary and secondary school founded in 1941with a boarding section located in the beautiful suburbs of Paris . We cater for the needs of both local and international students and therefore provide a wide range of courses. We offer French and British diplomas such as Baccalauréat, pre-IB IGCSE and Cambridge International A levels.
We currently have 940 students on roll, 105 of whom are five-day boarders and 14 seven-day boarders. Our students take part in regular exchanges (Europe , USA , Asia), cultural trips, sporting competitions, performing arts but also participate in international conferences and are involved in community service projects.
Location and Facilities:
L'Ermitage is home to around 140 boarders (girls and boys, 5 or 7 day boarding) from the Upper, Middle and Lower schools, from Monday morning to Friday evening. Pupils are divided up into 5 different living quarters, all of which are situated in the Parc de Maisons-Laffitte, within easy reach of the school gymnasium and 46 avenue Eglé. The boarders are grouped according to age in a series of rooms in groups of 2 to 6, all under the supervision of the Head of the Boarding section who lives on site.
Computer technology is assuming increased importance in the classroom as well as in the world of work. It is for this reason, amongst others, that an ambitious computer project was launched by L'Ermitage in September 2002. The main aims of this project are as follows:
- Installation of a wi-fi network, including wireless connection between buildings and in every classroom;
- Use of laptop computers by all members of teaching staff;
Implementation of a pedagogical intranet (Moodle) and an administrative extranet (Ecole Directe);
- Widespread use of information technology in the classroom;
- Use of laptop computers by pupils in class.
