Part-time Evening Courses:
- The DLTC are specialists in the language field and have French language evening courses available all year round.
- Our courses place great emphasis on 'spoken language'. In our experience, the greatest difficulty that many students have in
learning a foreign language is mastering the ability to 'speak' the language as opposed to read, write or understand the grammar. In addition many students simply wish to learn enough of a language to be able to communicate in everyday situations while traveling or on holiday. For these reasons, the main emphasis of our group courses is on getting students to speak a language successfully and students are encouraged to speak as much as possible within the class.
- In order to allow students the opportunity to speak and to ensure maximum teacher attention, we restrict the sizes of the classes with an average of between 7 to 10 students per class (maximum of 11 students).
- All our teachers are qualified, highly experienced and native speakers.
- Free assessment test - if you are unsure of your level of ability in the language you wish to improve, our teachers will freely assess you and advise you on which course/level you should take.
- The school offers some facilities to our foreign language students including: free level test or assessment; tea, coffee, soft-drinks during breaks; advice on all aspects of language-learning.
Private Classes:
- The classes can be arranged to suit both your and the teacher's schedule. Morning, afternoon and evening times may be available.
- Students will generally discuss their language needs with the teacher in advance of the course so that the teacher can provide content to suit those needs.
- These needs may be very specific or totally general - so whether you need work on your general conversation or holiday language needs or language for business, our teachers will be able to assist you.
- The teacher will also assess the student before the course to ensure class material is suited to the student's level.
- As with all our courses, our private language course teachers are qualified, experienced, native-speaking teachers.
- Generally classes take place at our school premises in Dun Laoghaire but teachers may be available to travel to other business premises to present courses. (Travel costs may be extra)
- Private individual classes and private classes for small groups are both available.
