non-profit corporation founded in Seattle in 1973. We can teach
virtually any language you desire. We operate language and cultural
classes as enrichment programs for elementary school children before
or after school. We also offer integrated programs presented during
the school day as part of the regular curriculum. We can provide
tailored individual and group training programs for people of all
ages and backgrounds in over 72 locations in Washington and Montana.

Seattle Language Academy (SLA)
Seattle Language Academy (SLA) is a non-profit language school in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle offering both group classes and individual lessons in foreign languages and in English as a second language. Classes and private tutoring are available in French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Turkish. Seattle Language Academy also offers instruction in Latin and Ancient Greek. The SLA curriculum consists of a first-year series (101-104), a second-year series (201-204), and, for some languages, advanced reading and conversation classes (300 series). Each of the first two series, 101-104 and 201-204, corresponds roughly to one year of college instruction.

WAL offers several levels of French. Levels I through VI teach the basic vocabulary and grammar components of the language: all verb tenses and moods, adjective and adverb forms, pronouns, interrogative words, etc. Advanced Conversation classes are available for students who wish to continue beyond Level VI.
