Since 1978, the IFS has been teaching in the former capital of Bonn and, since the year 2000, in the new capital of Berlin as well. La escuela de idiomas DIE NEUE SCHULE fue fundada en 1984 y hoy es una de las más grandes y conocidas de Berlín. Se encuentra en el centro de la ciudad, en medio de un barrio tranquilo al que se llega, usando el transporte público, por medio de dos líneas de metro y varias de autobuses. En unos quince minutos a pie se alcanza la Kurfuerstendamm y sus calles adyacentes, donde hay numerosos cafés, boutiques extravagantes y galerías. Además, hasta la Potsdamer Platz, la Friedrichstrasse o Prenzlauer Berg existen enlaces directos con el metro.
