F+U Academy of Languages, Heidelberg:
Since 1980 we have succesfully organized language courses in the centre of Heidelberg and language holidays abroad with 67 destinations worldwide.
The F+U language school's location is as central as you could hope for, in the bustling centre of the city and the Neckar river area is a mere stone's throw away. The school is at Bismarckplatz, which is in the Altstadt, the old-town.
Location and Facilities:
Heidelberg, the capital of the Kurpfalz, lies in the lovely Neckar valley, south of the Odenwald, and is distinguished by its particularly mild climate. Over the years, Heidelberg’s beauty has drawn a number of poets, painters and scientists. The city’s landmark lies approximately 70 metres above the Neckar on the slope of its very own mountain, Königstuhl. The ruins of the elector’s castle belong to one of the most impressive sights to behold on any tour of Germany. A walk round the Old Town will reveal particularly ornamental facades and portals. The focus of the Old Town is the market place, with the church of the Holy Ghost and the grand renaissance house “Zum Ritter”. Down from the church of the Holy Ghost there are many old alleys with pubs and restaurants. Spanning the Neckar, the Old Bridge is one of the most beautiful in Germany.
The name Heidelberg also stands for a modern science and business location of international renown. This concentration of sciences offers unequalled opportunities and is the basis for a dynamic science-orientated economy, which elevates Heidelberg, despite its modest population of 145.000, to being one of Germany’s highest flying economic centres.

Leisure activities:
Twice a week – and in summer up to four times a week – F+U offers a diverse programme of free time activities accompanied by a teacher. The students are offered the opportunity to get to know the many facets of Heidelberg 's cultural life and the free time activities available. Participation in these events is free, with the exception of charges for entrance fees or drinks.
Fixed highlights in our programme include a welcome party at the beginning of the month in F+U's listed party cellar in the old town; a barbeque party, weather permitting, at the same location, a tour of Heidelberg, also at the beginning of the month, and for sports enthusiasts a weekly football and volleyball tournament. The romantic boat trip on the Neckar is always met with great enthusiasm: departing from the shore of the Heidelberg old town past the Roman fortress of Dilsberg, the destination of the boat trip is Neckarsteinach with its four medieval castles.
