 Courses / Programs:

Courses / ProgramsWhile most students think of textbooks and classrooms when they think of "education", we believe it encompasses much more. Well-honed personal and practical skills are a fundamental component of a truly successful career in the hospitality industry. Our Hotel Management programs offer a powerful combination of theoretical knowledge, personal and professional skills development, and 'hands-on' industry exposure and experience.

Learn hospitality fundamentals through the world-recognized curriculum from the Educational Institute of the American Hotel and Lodging Association. For 50 years, EI of AH&LA has been the leader in providing training solutions that address the specific needs of the hospitality industry and VPC has added important Canadian content to this curriculum to ensure you are getting the most up-to-date and relevant hospitality education possible.

We offer the following programs:
- Hospitality Operations Diploma
- Hospitality Management Diploma

 Practical Experience:

Work Experience / Internships: VPC believes that real-life industry experience is a vital part of a hospitality education. Each student will have the opportunity to apply for a practicum (unpaid work placement), or a co-op (paid internship) component. The practicum session will be completed simultaneously while the student is in school, whereas with the co-op option, the student must take a semester off so that he/she is able to work full-time. These options allow students to put what they are learning in classes into real-life practice and, upon completing the practicum or co-op, students are often hired by the same company.

Applied Skills:There are 2 components to Applied Skills; in the first component, students will practice leadership, teamwork and event management skills through organizing at least 2 college events. Students will also take three practical, industry-certified workshops on food safety, customer service and alcohol service that will boost resumes when job hunting. In the second component of Applied Skills, students will practice writing effective resumes and cover letters that will lead to the interview process. Vital industry demanded soft skills such as attitude and empathy will also be developed and nurtured throughout this program.
