The Dublin Language Institute:
The Dublin Language Institute is one of the older established language schools in Dublin (1988) and is recognised by the Department of Education. It is situated a short walk from the centre on a wide, tree-lined street of the old Georgian-style housing. The building, itself, is ‘listed’ as one of architectural merit and is within a preservation area. It retains many original features, both inside and outside.

The character of the area is reflected in the ethos of the school - the promotion of a warm, personal and relaxed atmosphere – one most likely to enhance successful learning.
This is achieved, partly, through small group and individual learning within a modest learner intake and, further, through the quality of the carefully-chosen and well-qualified teaching staff.
Courses / Programs:General English, UCLES - Cambridge Exams, TOEFL, TIE, Business English, English for Executives, Refresher courses in TEFL for overseas teachers of English.
Accommodation:
Classroom practice is one thing. What happens afterwards? Do you get sufficient opportunity to use the language for the rest of the day?
One way is to ensure that you do is to stay with an Irish family. There you will have to communicate with members of the family over meals, watching television or just, simply, chatting. A major advantage of this is that you will also be exposed to Irish culture in a broad sense. Host families are inspected by the schools and have to maintain certain minimum standards. In addition to bed and breakfast and an evening meal, they provide a packed lunch during the school week and all meals at weekends.
Hotels:
For those wanting more independence, There is, as in most countries, a range of standards, usually indicated by the number of stars. Applicants should indicate the star quality they are looking for. However, remember that there are also bed and breakfasts (B&Bs) which are competitive.
Other:
There is a limited number of self-catering places available in universities and other institutions in the summer. These have to be booked well in advance. Additionally, there is some budget accommodation. In these, bedrooms are shared.
