Istituto
Italiano di Cultura
The Istituto Italiano di Cultura, situated in an early nineteenth century Georgian building in the centre of Dublin, was established in 1954 with the aim of fostering and increasing the already existing links between Italy and Ireland. From the beginning, it has carried out the activities later ratified in the Cultural Agreement between the two countries, signed in 1984 and consisting in initiatives in the fields of education, culture and science within the context of an increasing collaboration at a European level. These initiatives include the promotion of the teaching of Italian, with relevant opportunities for cultural exchange, and the awarding of Italian Government scholarships to Irish scholars, University students, researchers and artists.
