 When you open the door to il Sillabo you step into an ancient medieval building in the historical center of San Giovanni Valdarno, a quiet, Tuscan town, in the Arno valley, surrounded by undulating green hills. Wandering through its streets, alleys and squares you can't help but breathe in the atmosphere of a fascinating and distant age which still lingers in the streets and shops of what is now a modern, lively, fashionable and authentic, Italian town.
At Il Sillabo we equate travelling with learning and exploration. If you share our philosophy, our school could be the perfect departure point for your own journey through the language, history, politics, art and culture of this beautiful Italian region. Florence is only a short train journey away.
The school was started by teachers; and they know both teaching and training their teachers. Our instructors, in fact, instead of being passive transmitters of pre-made courses, they adapt activities, tests, and lessons daily to adjust to the personality of each class. This level of professional engagement and commitment drives dynamic, rigorous classes, while the same time, the teachers’ philosophy is to cultivate a relaxed, supportive atmosphere where students feel comfortable participating and being involved.

Try our “cappuccino” for two: For two people (friends or partners etc.) enrolling together in one of our courses starting before the month of July or after the month of September we offer a 40-hour course of 2 weeks with accommodation in a double room in a shared apartment for 490 euros instead of 545 euros per person.
For those who want to stay longer…
We offer a 60-hour course of 3 weeks with accommodation in a double room in a shared apartment, and if you enrol 60 days in advance in one of our courses starting before the month of July or after the month of September and you are staying for 4 weeks, we offer an 80-hour course with accommodation in a single room in a shared apartment. Please state that you wish to take advantage of our “macchiato” offer when you apply. And for last-week enrolments (within 7 days from the course beginning), no enrolment fee! Ask for our last-week offer!!
