Culinary Arts School in Italy
The “G. Brera” School of Culinary Arts is
located in Como, located less than an hour from
Milan in the north of Italy. It school is
situated close to the town centre and the famous
lake, in a high-profile complex housing both
secondary schools and a number of further
education courses, all authorised by MIUR, the
Italian Ministry for Education, University and
Research.
The Istituto Alberghiero “G.Brera” is officially
recognised by MIUR, the Ministry for Education,
University and Research and awards legal tender
certificates. The “G. Brera” School of Culinary
Arts has two kitchen labs endowed with
state-of-the-art equipment: one is a teaching
lab with 18 work stations, the other a
professional lab, serving an adjoining 140-seat
restaurant open to the public so as to offer the
students an opportunity to practice in
conditions as similar as possible to those they
will go and work in once they have completed the
course.
The complex is within easy reach from the centre
of Milan (45 minutes by train) and the railway
station is 150 metres from the school. The
closest airport is the Milan Malpensa MXP
Airport some 50 km away, from which there are
regular connections for Como.Courses
1 year Foundation Course in Culinary Arts -
Classes run daily from Monday to Thursday from 9
a.m. to 6 p.m., striking a perfect balance
between theoretical classes (in standard
classrooms) and practical classes (in the
kitchen labs). Each participant will be equipped
with all the teaching materials foreseen for the
course (a cost already included in the fee)
consisting in: a set of knives, a kitchen
uniform, books and study materials, foodstuffs.
During our 4-week Summer Cooking Classes
students will learn about pasta, meat, fish,
cheese, sweets, wines and much, much more.
