Industry Connections:

A survey of Polimoda alumni found that the employment rate is very high (87% of graduates are employed), but even more importantly that a large percentage of Polimoda graduates work in the fashion field. Many of them work for famous fashion houses, such as Valentino, Dolce e Gabbana, Krizia, Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein, Prada, Hugo Boss, Gucci, Benetton and other prestigious industrial and commercial businesses.
Fashion Internships:
Students intern at local fashion businesses in Florence during their undergraduate or masters program. The majority of our students go on to work in the fashion sector directly after their studies at Polimoda. Company demand is so high that Polimoda has established a permanent office that selects students for the end-of-program internships currently being offered, and organizes interviews with companies. Hands-on training in the field is an important step that allows the student take stock of his or her own capacities as well as the realities of the job market. Company internships are unpaid and for this reason, we give maximum leeway to student preferences. The companies give a formal evaluation of student performance, which becomes a part of the student’s resume. The duration of the internship is three months.
Quality Facilities:
In 1994 Polimoda inaugurated a technology training center to meet the training needs of field specialists, instructors and students participating in professional training courses. It is a point of reference for companies and fashion professionals who want to learn how to use CAD-CAM. The Tech Lab is the most advanced training structure in the field of state-of-the-art fashion technology in Italy. It has over 80 workstations in four different laboratories in which it is possible to follow the development of the fashion product from conception to management of the data relative to the whole cycle of production. The entire structure has a 24-hour-a-day Internet connection.
