Polimoda offers a wide range of courses from undergraduate and summer courses to postgraduate studies, taught in Italian or English. All of the undergraduate and Master degree courses require an admission test. Our programs taught in Italian require an intermediate knowledge of the language. We constantly create new programs in English to meet the needs of the international market. We also offer summer courses in fashion design, marketing, trends and more.
Preparatory Courses - taught in Italian and English
- Orientation in Fashion Design
This course aims to give students a taste of the world of fashion over a brief period. It provides an introduction to basic technical principals that will allow students to understand fundamental concepts in the fashion world. The course lasts 5 months and on completion of this course, students will be able to decide i
f they want to continue in the world of fashion studies and make it a future career. The course includes seminars and field trips to exhibitions, trade fairs and firms in order to further the student's basic preparation.
- Foundation in Fashion Design & Fashion Marketing
This course aims at giving students a basic knowledge of the fashion world in a short amount of time. The introduction to technical basics allows students to understand the fundamental concepts of the fashion world. At the end of this course of studies students will be able to decide if they are willing to continue with more specialized, fashion studies.
The course includes seminars and field trips to exhibitions, trade fairs and firms in order to broaden the student's basic preparation.
Undergraduate Programs taught in Italian
- Fashion Design
The objective of this 3 year course is the development of the
creative talent of young people who plan to become professional fashion designers. It widens their abilities through research, observation and close examination of the methods for the creation of an innovative and individual fashion collection.
- Womens & Menswear Patternmaking
Qualified teachers and professionals of the sector give their lessons in pattern making, sewing, sketching and computer science in functional laboratories. Fieldtrips to fabricants of the sector (fur, leather, cloth), textile brands, museums and fashion shows complete the program.
- Design Footwear & Accessories
This program closely examines the roles, skills and competencies required to create footwear and accessories, investigating them through practical and creative training. The objective is the development of a personal creative identity capable of interacting with the industry.
- Fashion Marketing
Management
The program trains professionals to be able to work in the product division as the conduit between the creative idea of the style office and the actual manufacturing of the product. This program is a means of acquiring all of the elements of management culture, such as ability to manage human resources and a close-up look at all of the computer supports.
- Marketing Communication
Aimed at giving students a comprehensive knowledge of the fashion system and its inner mechanisms, as well as trends, means of communication, company strategies and consumer’s psychology to train high-quality managers for communication agencies, public relations, press offices and event planning for publishing.

- Fashion Marketing Communication
Communicating fashion means to represent it through image, language, events, media, testimonials or celebrities who form part of the fashion system.
The Masters course forms professionals able to manage public relations, advertising and presentations, and to communicate with the media.
- Fashion Marketing & Organisation of Events
This course teaches how to develop the concept for events such as conferences, parties, fashion shows etc as well as their planning, preparation and organization. The course forms competent professionals, who can work in the fashion industry but also in the world of cultural events, stage direction, production and cinema.
- Marketing Management for Fashion Buying
The aim of this course is to provide professionals with a specific knowledge of the fashion product and of the issues relating to national and international marketing strategies.
- Master in Fashion Beauty & Cosmetics Management
This course aims to train marketing management experts to work in fashion markets such as beauty, personal care and fragrances. In these rapidly growing and highly competitive markets, skills are needed in strategic planning, market analysis, devising and developing new products, branding, choosing distribution channels, creating consumer loyalty, communication strategies and media planning.
- International Fashion Marketing
This is a very specialised masters course designed to train professional figures to work in Italy and abroad who can deal with the main corporate, commercial, and analytical problems of companies in the fashion sector wanting to enter the international market.
- Master In Fashion Visual Communication
It is a highly specialised course with an innovative approach to training dealing with technology, solutions and practical experimentation in the following sectors: web, multimedia, advertising and product graphics, publishing graphics, trademarks and logos, promotional visual communication for fashion sales outlets and events.
- Master Fashion Coordinator
The fashion coordinator is able to manage market information in favour of style development of the collection. This position closely collaborates with: style office for the mapping and management of collection development; marketing office for the surveying of single customers’ suggestions or market researches; communication and event organization for presenting the collection.
- Master Fashion Visual Merchandising
The aim of the masters course is to train image consultants, highly specialised professional figures in great demand in all sectors of fashion, from window dressing to store layout design, who are capable of combining creativity and visual marketing strategies.
- Master in Fashion Photography
The aim of the course is to prepare fashion photographers to be an expert in style and image, playing an important role in the success of a collection, enhancing the peculiar style of a fashion line, from the runway show to the advertising campaign.
- Master in Retail Management
The course offers a comprehensive knowledge of the fashion system and the product offering, dealing with strategic operative marketing studies, retail marketing, shopping behavior analysis, visual merchandising and pdv communication/promotion techniques.

- Fashion Design Advanced (only in English)
This is an intensive course of high specialization, especially intended for young fashion designers in possession of a post-diploma title or with only little experience in the job world. Its fundamental objective is to complete the preparation of the fashion designer, showing him/her how to create, to produce and to introduce a fashion collection in a professional and convincing way.
- Master in Luxury Management (only in English)
The courses is targeted towards graduates wishing to establish a management career in companies which deal in luxury such as yachts, leather products, jewelry, perfumes, wines etc.
- Fashion Merchandising and Management (only in English)
This course trains students to become qualified marketing and merchandising specialists in the fashion sector.
- Master In Fashion Footwear Design - Advanced
This program provides, in a highly experiential format, the specialized technical knowledge of the footwear product and industry to create excellent contemporary fashion accessories.
- Master Fashion Bag & Accessory Design - Advanced
This course provides an experience of full immersion working with professional resources such as manufacturers, designers, craftsman and trade shows.
- Master Art & Fashion
Fashion garments are archived in the same way as art pieces. Fashion exhibitions are not only exposing garments in an historical parcours but in a special created environment in a contemporary context in relation with art or/and socio-cultural studies. ‘Fashion curating’ is a new profession and this course provides specialized training.
- Master Fashion Coordinator
