Established in 1984, The Accademia Italiana is an international art & design school with centrally-located campuses in the historic cities of Florence and Rome. We offer a bachelor's degree course in Interior and Product Design in both cities. This is a dual qualification course; On successful graduation, you earn a BA (Hons) degree from the University of Wales, a leading UK university, as well as an advanced diploma from Accademia Italiana. You do not need to speak Italian in order to attend the Accademia Italiana.

BA (Hons) Degree in Interior and Product Design (3 years)
Photo for Accademia Italiana, Florence & Rome - BA (Hons) Interior Design Degree in ItalyThe BA (Hons) degree program in Interior and Product Design is subdivided into 6 academic semesters. In the 1st semester, you will learn basic techniques of technical drawing and geometric design along with the first theoretic elements. From the 2nd semester onwards, you will fully enter the world of design on various levels. Both individual projects and industrial design for series production are discussed. 

Design concerns objects of general use, furniture designed for various destinations and the design of interiors in general. Traditional design instruments will be used together with computer-aided design (CAD). Students are encouraged to use the a variety of materials, including new, experimental materials. At the end of the 3-year programs, students can be admitted into the Design Masters program.

Interior and Product Design Subjects:
History of design; Basic design / Analysis of styles; Interior planning; Geometric and technical drawing; Architectural design and survey; Industrial design; Technology of materials; Model building; Graphic techniques; Computer-aided design (CAD and Rhino); Architectural interventions; Marketing e business.

External activities make up an integral part of the course, (participation in exhibitions, learning trips to museums and exhibitions, participation in contests (individually or in groups), etc.) along with the internal seminars and workshops (encounters with designers and experts, seminars and practical laboratories).

Certification:  At the end of each academic year, a specific certificate or diploma is awarded upon successful completion of exams. At the end of the third year, the Accademia Italian awards its diploma and the University of Wales awards its bachelors degree.
