Tricolore is an accredited Italian language
school in Genoa, an historical city located in
Liguria on the north-west Mediterranean coast of
Italy and in the middle of the Italian Riviera,
close to Portofino and San Remo. At Scuola
Tricolore we understand that students not only
come to Italy to study Italian and learn about
Italian culture, but that they also come to
relax, mingle, eat, drink and laugh. Thus,
Scuola Tricolore is about studying Italian in a
professional manner yet with fun and interaction
in a beautiful area of Italy.
Accreditation: The courses of Scuola
Tricolore have been recognised / accredited by
Universidad de Las Americas (Mexico),
Bildungsurlaub Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein,
Brandenburg and the Swedish CSN. Scuola
Tricolore is also an official training centre
for the language department of the University of
Genova. Students participating in the Master of
Italian Didactics for Foreigners, attend their
internship training at our school.
 Courses: Our courses are divided between group courses and individual courses. According to your needs and preferences, you can choose to attend either a group course, individual classes or a mixed course, a flexible combination of both. Group courses have a great atmosphere and are very sociable, individual classes are more intense and provide faster learning, while mixed courses provide all the advantages of both courses.
We cover all levels from A1 to C2, Absolute Beginners, Elementary, Pre-intermediate, Intermediate, Pre-advanced, Advanced, following the Assessment Grid of the European Language Portfolio (ELP).
Our flexible system allows us to customise any individual lesson according to each student's interest or professional background.
Our subjects cover a wide range of topics: Law, Engineering, Architecture, Medicine, Tourism, Business, Italian Literature, Italian History, Italian Geography, Italian Art, Italian Cinema, Italian Culture and Politics, Italian Cuisine, Italian Music History and Opera.
Quality: All the Scuola Tricolore
teachers have university degrees in languages,
either a master degree or a doctor's degree.
Besides that, all the teachers are selected on
personal traits. We emphasise and encourage
openness, commitment and friendliness. Our
service desk during school hours is always
available for any questions you may have in
English, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch.
The method of Scuola Tricolore is based on the
'communicative method', which easily enables you
to develop expressive skills along with written
communication, and 'edutainment' (education +
entertainment), which enables you to learn in a
short-time with fun. Our method of teaching is
designed to enable quality, flexibility,
interaction and customisation.
 Genoa: Genoa or 'Genova' in Italian with
its people and cuisine offers a marvellous mix
of the many cultures that have built this lovely
old port city. Along with this rich cultural history,
Genoa has the largest medieval city centre in Europe, which recently has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage list of protected areas.
Genoa Airport is well connected by the major airlines to cities such as London, Paris, Zurich, Frankfurt, Munich, and there are daily flight connections to all the major Italian locations - Rome, Milan, Venice, Naples, Sardinia, Sicily etc. Genoa offers an affordable cost of living and a very mild climate all year round.

Besides our friendly and interactive classes, we
offer all our students regular social
activities: a great way to get familiar with
Italy, Italians and your fellow students. From
June until September we also organise diverse
cultural and leisure activities (sailing,
hiking, walking tours, wine tours & wine
tasting, cooking classes).
